| 02.15.08 / Fri What better way to see the island than with Grand Bahama Nature Tours and Chad who was our jeep driver and guide for the excursion. We were able to see Ben's Cave, Lucayan National Park and even get to venture onto the property that was used in the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean, the second and third installments of the franchise. Be sure to check the Bahamas photo gallery for additional visuals...beautiful, just beautiful! Next we visited St. John's Jubilee Cathedral and St. Stephen's Anglican Church to observe how Bahamian church culture differs and is the same for our experience here in Canada. St. Stephen's is located right on the ocean and is a historical landmark on Grand Bahama Island as the oldest church building, built in the 1900's. In both churches the people's love for God and their heart of worship was very evident and such a blessing! And then cooking some cracked lobster on the beach with Chef Carlos from the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach resort...this recipe is also used for cracked conch (using conch meat instead of lobster) and both are wonderfully scrumptuous! Tourism Bahamas is the premiere destination for anyone planning a trip to any of the Bahama islands and is jammed packed with all the info you need to know while preparing your vacation destination. *** Be sure to watch Real Life starting Monday, February 18th as we start a massive, very exciting contest to give away a trip for 2 to the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort in Freeport, Grand Bahama! Check the contest section here for details! *** |
